Two parks in Redditch have received Green Flag status in the 2026 awards round, placing them among the top parks in the country.
Morton Stanley Park and Overdale Park were both successful in the awards, which are managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.
What the award recognises
The Green Flag award recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces. It sets the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
This year, 2,391 parks across the UK achieved the award.
Council response
Redditch Borough Council Leader Matt Dormer, whose portfolio covers parks and open spaces, said the council is proud of the achievement.
"Redditch boasts a wealth of green spaces and are enjoyed by our residents whether they are attending events, meeting friends and family, getting some fresh air and exercise – or even walking the dog. And what's more they are free to use," Dormer said.
"This achievement recognises the dedication of our Place and Parks Team, the people on the ground, in maintaining them to such a high standard."
