Young people aged 16 to 24 in Redditch and Bromsgrove are being invited to apply for Creative Producer roles as part of the Sharing Stories, Shaping Futures programme run by ReNEW.
The scheme recruits aspiring Creative Producers to work alongside three arts organisations: Trigger – Performing Arts, Overhear – Digital Arts, and INSTAR – Visual Arts. Participants will influence creative projects and help ensure young people's voices are heard and represented in cultural activities across the area.
What the Role Offers
The programme offers participants the chance to connect with like-minded people, gain valuable experience, develop leadership and decision-making skills, and work directly with experienced arts professionals in a friendly, supportive environment.
Creative Producers will gain first-hand insight into how creative projects are developed and delivered. They will help shape arts activities that celebrate local areas, engage with communities and their stories, and reflect the interests and experiences of young people in the area.
The skills developed can support future education, employment, and volunteering opportunities.
What Participants Say
Lauren, one of the current Creative Producers, said: "I chose to become a creative producer because I think it will be a fantastic opportunity to learn from professionals in the performing arts and gain experience behind the scenes, as I hope to become a theatre director and writer in the future. I think my favourite aspect of this project is that it's by and for the people of Bromsgrove and Redditch; it shows that actually I don't need to live in Birmingham or London in order to get creative opportunities."
Council Support
Leader of the Council, Cllr. Matt Dormer, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to play an active role in shaping arts and culture in Redditch. The Creative Producer programme puts young people's voices at the heart of decision-making, helping them develop valuable skills while influencing opportunities that matter most to them and their communities. I highly encourage anyone interest to at least get in touch for a chat about the programme."
How to Apply
The programme is designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible. Only 10 places are available on each project. Young people are encouraged to apply now to avoid missing this opportunity.
