Redditch Borough Council is launching a new series of free ESCAPE-pain rehabilitation sessions for people living with arthritic joint pain, beginning on 16 September 2026.
ESCAPE-pain is a group rehabilitation programme that combines guided exercise with practical education and self-management techniques. The programme is designed to help participants understand their condition better, develop effective coping strategies, and follow a progressive exercise plan.
What the programme offers
Sessions aim to improve confidence, mobility and day-to-day wellbeing for people experiencing joint pain. All sessions are completely free to attend.
Cllr Matt Dormer, Leader of Redditch Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: "Living with persistent joint pain can have a significant impact on people's quality of life, affecting their confidence, mobility and ability to enjoy everyday activities. ESCAPE-pain is a well-established programme that gives residents access to practical advice, targeted exercise and professional support to help them manage their condition more effectively."
